About the Role We are seeking a results-driven Procurement Specialist with experience in flexible packaging, packaging materials, or specialty paper grades. The primary focus of this role is direct procurement from mills, identifying and securing the most suitable and competitive supply sources. In addition to core procurement responsibilities, the role also involves developing and managing contract manufacturing partnerships to support sales needs. Candidates with a background in trading and a strong commercial mindset will be especially well-suited for this position. Key Responsibilities Mill-Direct Procurement: Lead sourcing and procurement efforts directly from mills, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and reliability. Supply Strategy: Identify, evaluate, and select optimal supply options based on commercial goals and customer requirements. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with mills, converters, and service providers. Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and service agreements with suppliers and partners. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, operations, and logistics teams to ensure seamless supply execution. Market Intelligence: Monitor global market trends, pricing shifts, and supply dynamics to guide sourcing strategies. Contract Manufacturing Development: Establish and manage converting or manufacturing partnerships to supplement in-house or mill capabilities. Risk Management: Diversify sourcing channels and plan for contingencies to ensure supply chain resilience. Qualifications 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience in flexible packaging, specialty grades, or related materials. Proven ability to source directly from mills and navigate supply market dynamics. Experience developing or managing contract manufacturing or converting relationships. Strong commercial instincts, negotiation skills, and cross-functional communication. Experience in trading or fast-paced commercial environments is a strong plus. Willingness to travel regularly within the domestic market, with occasional international travel as needed.
