Cosmogence is a platform that provides remote Software Developer(GIS) jobs that allow you to work from anywhere for companies in Canada and the United States.

Cosmogence is looking to fill remote Software Developer for our US based clients who are interested in hiring remote, full-time employees from around the world to be a part of their team. You should have a penchant for excellence with a proven track-record of successfully delivering high quality work, be a lifelong learner, have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, and have excellent English skills.

The specific technologies, years of experience and job requirements will vary depending on the client you are hired by, so we are open to a variety of skill types and levels of experience. Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing customized web-GIS applications for clients to use on desktop, tablet and mobile devices 

• Extending the ArcGIS Platform using the VertiGIS Studio products framework

• Acting as a trusted advisor to our clients all over the world

• Some server/network administration and troubleshooting

• Collaborating with a development team through the lifecycle of a project

• Creating clear and functional tests

• Is continually learning about new technologies and adapting their approach to solving problems

• Enjoys occasional business travel to client sites (not mandatory)

Skill Requirements:

• Knowledge of some of the following software technologies: C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML5 and IIS

• Knowledge of SQL

• Understand the basics of web hosting and content delivery (HTTP)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines 

Would love to see:

• 3 or more years of development experience

• Exposure and familiarity with GIS concepts 

• Experience with the ArcGIS Platform (ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS JavaScript API, Web App Builder, etc.) 

• Considered a bonus if you are familiar with cloud hosting providers (AWS, Azure), networking, and security best practices
