As an accounting technician, you will provide essential support to the accounting team by performing various clerical and administrative tasks related to financial transactions and record-keeping. You will play a vital role in recording financial transactions, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

<li>Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims.</li>
<li>Review vendor invoices for accuracy, proper approval, and coding.</li>
<li>Prepare and issue payments to vendors.</li>
<li>Maintain records of accounts payable and accounts receivable.</li>
<li>Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue payments.</li>
<li>General Ledger and Bookkeeping:</li>
<li>Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.</li>
<li>Enter financial transactions into the general ledger.</li>
<li>Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.</li>
<li>Assist in preparing journal entries and adjusting entries.</li>
<li>Help maintain the chart of accounts and subsidiary ledgers.</li>
</ul>
Financial Reporting:
<ul>
<li>Prepare and generate routine financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.</li>
<li>Assist in analyzing financial data and identifying trends or discrepancies.</li>
<li>Collaborate with senior accountants to ensure accurate and timely reporting.</li>
</ul>
Data Entry and Record-Keeping:
<ul>
<li>Enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets.</li>
<li>Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for financial documents.</li>
<li>Retrieve and provide necessary financial information as requested.</li>
<li>Assist in preparing financial schedules and supporting documentation for audits.</li>
</ul>
Payroll Support:
<ul>
<li>Assist with payroll processing, including verifying time sheets, calculating wages, and processing deductions.</li>
<li>Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.</li>
<li>Help address employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits.</li>
</ul>
Administrative Tasks:
<ul>
<li>Assist with administrative duties, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and filing paperwork.</li>
<li>Support the accounting team with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.</li>
<li>Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in accounting or related field is a plus).</li>
<li>Prior experience in an accounting or finance role is desirable but not always required.</li>
<li>Basic understanding of accounting principles and concepts.</li>
<li>Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.</li>
<li>Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP).</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational and time management skills.</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li>
