As an accounting technician, you will provide essential support to the accounting team by performing various clerical and administrative tasks related to financial transactions and record-keeping. You will play a vital role in recording financial transactions, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims.
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy, proper approval, and coding.
- Prepare and issue payments to vendors.
- Maintain records of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue payments.
- General Ledger and Bookkeeping:
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Enter financial transactions into the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Assist in preparing journal entries and adjusting entries.
- Help maintain the chart of accounts and subsidiary ledgers.
- Prepare and generate routine financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in analyzing financial data and identifying trends or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with senior accountants to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Data Entry and Record-Keeping:
- Enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for financial documents.
- Retrieve and provide necessary financial information as requested.
- Assist in preparing financial schedules and supporting documentation for audits.
- Assist with payroll processing, including verifying time sheets, calculating wages, and processing deductions.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
- Help address employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits.
- Assist with administrative duties, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and filing paperwork.
- Support the accounting team with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in accounting or related field is a plus).
- Prior experience in an accounting or finance role is desirable but not always required.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
