As a BOOKKEEPER, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing various accounting tasks for a company or organization. You will play a vital role in recording financial transactions, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.&nbsp;

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Transactions and Record-Keeping:
<ul>
<li>Record day-to-day financial transactions, such as sales, purchases, receipts, and payments, into the accounting system.</li>
<li>Maintain and update general ledger accounts by verifying and posting transactions.</li>
<li>Prepare and process invoices, bills, and expense reports.</li>
<li>Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.</li>
<li>Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for financial documents.</li>
</ul>
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
<ul>
<li>Manage accounts payable by reviewing and verifying invoices, coding expenses, and issuing payments.</li>
<li>Process and record vendor invoices, ensuring proper approval and accurate allocation to appropriate accounts.</li>
<li>Monitor and manage accounts receivable, including generating customer invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue invoices.</li>
<li>Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable balances.</li>
</ul>
Payroll and Employee Benefits:
<ul>
<li>Process payroll, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and withholdings.</li>
<li>Maintain payroll records, including employee time sheets, attendance, and leave balances.</li>
<li>Prepare and remit payroll taxes, including federal and state tax filings.</li>
<li>Assist with administering employee benefits, such as health insurance and retirement plans.</li>
</ul>
Financial Reporting:
<ul>
<li>Prepare financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.</li>
<li>Generate and analyse various financial reports, including aging reports, trial balances, and profit and loss statements.</li>
<li>Assist in preparing and reviewing financial reports for management and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Provide support for audits and assist in the preparation of supporting documentation.</li>
</ul>
Compliance and Documentation:
<ul>
<li>Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.</li>
<li>Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax.</li>
<li>Maintain proper documentation and records to support financial transactions and audits.</li>
<li>Assist in implementing and improving internal controls to mitigate financial risks.</li>
<li>Assist with general administrative tasks related to the finance department.</li>
<li>Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and employees regarding financial matters.</li>
<li>Collaborate with other team members and departments as needed.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in accounting or related field is a plus).</li>
<li>Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.</li>
<li>Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office applications.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational and time management skills.</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks within deadlines.</li>
<li>Familiarity with relevant accounting regulations and compliance requirements.</li>
